All about Aussie rules.

Those of you who don't live in Australia might be unaware of what Australian footy is. If this is the case then you are in the right place as we are going to tell you all about it. We'll start with what it's called first. Most people know it as Australian rules football or just Australian football. More casually it is known as Aussie rules or footy.

And how is it played? Well there are two teams made up of 22 players, 18 of these are on the field and the other four are interchanges. They play on either an official Australian rules football ground or a cricket ground which has been modified especially for the purpose. You might have guessed by now that the aim of the game is to score as many points as possible which is done by passing the ball through the opponents goal. It is without a doubt an exciting game which will probably give you a bit of a thrill to play and watch in the same way that playing games at http://www.partycasino.com/ might or playing another sport like cricket might do. It is faster than those games though and really depends on team work.

In Australia footy is really popular and is played and watched by a lot of people. It is also not just professionals who play, there are a number of amateur leagues to take part in. Professional players take part in the Australian Football League (AFL) which is the most prestigious competition. This culminates in the annual AFL Grand Final, which you may be surprised to learn is the highest attended club championship event in the world, so you can get the idea of what kind of scale this is on. You can see why it is so popular, it's fun, fast paced and everyone can get involved in one way or another.
